⦁ If your child is looking for an internationally recognized qualification in the English Language, Cambridge Qualification is the best to take a head start.
⦁ It will prepare your child to;
⦁ – communicate effectively in Speaking and Writing as well as will improve Listening and Reading skills.

FCE (FIRST CERTIFICATE IN ENGLISH)
This qualification is similar to the IELTS Score 6.5 – 7.5 and proves you have the language skills to live and work independently in an English-speaking country or have the ability to understand and study courses taught in English. It further proves that students can communicate effectively, express opinions and present arguments, write clear, detailed English, expressing opinions and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different points of view, write letters, reports, stories and more.

The most vital reasons to opt for FCE is the fact that it is accepted for entry to foundation, pathway and pre-seasonal courses in English-speaking countries, accepted for entry to undergraduate programmers taught in the medium of English in non-English-speaking countries

It is also recognized by educational institutions worldwide, including top universities and colleges in Australia, North America, and UK, Europe.

KET (KEY ENGLISH TEST)

This will enable students to understand and use everyday expressions and basic phrases, introduce themselves and answer basic questions about their personal details, interact with English speakers who speak clearly and write short simple notes. The duration of this course is 11 months.

PET (PRELIMINARY ENGLISH TEST)

PET is for students in grade 8 and above. This shows that you have mastered the basics of English and now have practical language skills for everyday use. This will ensure students understand straight forward instructions or public announcements, express simple opinions on abstract and cultural matters, understand routine information and articles and write letters or make notes on familiar or predictable matters.

CAE (CERTIFICATE OF ADVANCED ENGLISH)
It is equivalent to the IELTS Score 8- 9.

More than 8,000 educational institutions, businesses and government departments around the world accept Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) as proof of a high-level achievement in English. Advanced English helps learners to develop the skills to make the most of studying, working and living in English-speaking countries. It further shows that you can follow an academic course at university level, communicate effectively at a managerial and professional level, participate with confidence in workplace meetings or academic tutorials and seminars, express yourself with a high level of fluency,

International Language Standards

About the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is an international standard for describing language ability. It describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners, up to C2 for those who have mastered a language. This makes it easy for anyone involved in language teaching and testing, such as teachers or learners, to see the level of different qualifications. It also means that employers and educational institutions can easily compare our qualifications to other exams in their country.

Annual Coordinators’ Conference 2025

In the globalised world, English is more than a means of communication; it’s a life skill. One that unlocks access to higher education, global career opportunities, and meaningful connection in a fast-evolving world.

This idea was brought to life at the Annual Coordinators Conference 2025, held recently in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where over 160 educators from across the region gathered for two days of insightful discussion, innovation, and collaboration. Framed by the theme “Futuristic Classrooms: Empowering Global Citizens in a Digital World” the event explored how education must adapt to prepare students for the demands of an interconnected, tech-driven future.

Standout sessions led by Ranmali Wickramasinghe and Fazla Razak, and joined by speakers from Cambridge—including Carly Garner, Head of Business Ethics and Compliance; Clare Godwin Director, Business Ethics and Integrity; moderated by T K Arunachalam, Regional Director – English, South Asia; and Zahara Ansary, Country Head, Sri Lanka and the Maldives—highlighted how English, when taught as a practical life skill, serves as a bridge between academic achievement and real-world employability. The session explored how inclusive, future-focused learning environments can empower learners to thrive beyond the classroom.

Key takeaways from the session for educators:
– Education must go beyond assessments. It should prepare learners to navigate a complex world with confidence, compassion, and critical thinking.
– English should be taught as a skill for life, not just as a subject. When integrated meaningfully, it enhances learners’ ability to connect, collaborate, and succeed in global contexts.
– Creating inclusive and digitally enabled classrooms is essential. Embracing diversity, accessibility, and technology ensures that every student is empowered .

As classrooms evolve with technology and innovation, an educator’s role in guiding students to become confident, responsible global citizens is more crucial than ever. An educator’s commitment to this mission is deeply valued, and we thank you for the dedication and passion you bring to your work.
