Sil Campaign for the students of Grade 11 & A/Ls

As a school, we mainly focus on shaping our children in a well-mannered way to get praised by everyone and to develop their attitude in making them much respected character in the future world. The programme prepared for the spiritual development of the children is Sil programme and regular mindfulness practice promotes positivity, self-confidence and inner-balance.

Chinese Day Celebrations – 2026

Upper Section

The Chinese Festival held at Ashoka College on 26th January 2026 was a colourful and memorable celebration of culture, tradition, and friendship. The event was honoured by the participation of Chinese teachers, whose presence added great value and authenticity to the programme. Students and the staff enjoyed a variety of performances and activities that highlighted the richness of Chinese heritage, including traditional customs, language, and art. The festival not only strengthened cultural understanding but also encouraged mutual respect and global harmony among the school community. It was truly an enriching experience for everyone who took part in this meaningful celebration.

Celebrating The 36th Anniversary of Mother Ashoka with Blessed Hearts.
 
With blessed and grateful hearts, we proudly celebrated the 36th Anniversary of Mother Ashoka by arranging a special alms offering for the venerable Theros who went on pindapatha. This meaningful act was carried out in the spirit of gratitude, compassion, and respect, honoring the values and guidance Mother Ashoka has given over the past 36 years.

With immense gratitude and happiness, we announce the successful completion of the Spirit of Hope Donation Drive by Ashoka College. This meaningful initiative would not have been possible without the guidance, generosity, and collective effort of many kind hearts.

First and foremost, we extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the Managing Director and the Principal of Ashoka College, Rev. Dr. Labugama Narada Thero, for conceiving this noble idea and for providing his fullest support, guidance, and blessings throughout the journey. His vision and leadership were the true foundation of this project.

We offer our special thanks to the Seishoji Buddhist Temple, Tokyo, Japan, and Rev. Takazhi Shoei for their invaluable support and generosity, which greatly strengthened this initiative and connected compassion beyond borders 🌍🤍.

Teacher’s Day 2025

Teacher’s Day at Ashoka College, Horana, was celebrated with great respect and enthusiasm to honour the dedicated service of teachers. The event began with the lighting of the oil lamp followed by a welcome speech by the students. Various performances such as songs, and speeches highlighted the love and gratitude students have for their teachers. The principal and senior teachers were felicitated with tokens of appreciation for their invaluable guidance and hard work. The celebration created a joyful and emotional atmosphere, strengthening the bond between teachers and students. It was a memorable occasion that reminded everyone of the vital role teachers play in shaping young minds.
